Sports Specialism

What does Sport Specialism mean to us?

Salford City Academy is one of an increasing number of schools up and down the country designated a Specialist Sports Academy.  This has involved many changes to school life.

PE and sport have become more important than ever and every pupil is entitled to high quality PE and sporting provision, including core time activity clubs and out-of-hours clubs.  The students were asked the best ways for them to become 'Healthy for Life' and their responses have shaped how PE is taught and which clubs are on offer.

The sporting message pervades across the curriculum, encompassing every subject area and driving change and improvement across the academy.

The academy aims to become a base for community sports clubs and sporting provision and will offer sport related courses to the wider community.
