Applied Learning

‘Engage, inform and transform lives'

As one of only few schools to be given applied learning status, we have been given the responsibility for driving forward the government's policy of transforming 14-19 education in Salford. We have a range of applied learning courses at both Key Stage 4 and Key Stage 5 which link the Academy with the world of work while some of our students already benefit from the opportunity to attend applied learning courses as part of a link programme with Salford City College and GM Power.

All students take part in work experience and work related learning, benefiting from the information, advice and guidance that is on offer as they progress through the Academy.

Above all, we aim to equip students with the skills and personal qualities they will need when they leave school and seek employment.

Jobs Week at Barton Moss PS - 15th June 2010 Jobs Week at Barton Moss PS - 15th June 2010 Applied Learning accepted a bid for funding from Barton Moss Primary School to help with the costs of their 'Jobs Week' for the students to experience the World of Work at an early age.
