A SPORTING CHANCE

Hull born Rob Binnington, 17, is hoping to march back across the Pennines when his studies at Salford City Academy come to an end in August. Rob's sporting background is rich having been selected for a scholarship with Doncaster Rugby League club.

Unfortunately, that was cut short due to injury but he now wants to develop a sporting career off the pitch and has accepted a place to study Sports Coaching at his first choice, Hull University.

"I've got a lot of friends in Hull and am looking forward to going back. I've always been into sports and want to develop a career in coaching and physiotherapy," said Rob.

Whilst at Salford City Academy Rob studied P.E., Maths and Chemistry and is full of praise for the support he received from SCA staff as he made the big decision to go to University.

"Our teachers have been helpful throughout the application process," added Rob. "They helped me with my personal statement, references and the application process so it wasn't as daunting as a lot of people expect."
