Georgina Knight's Outstanding Performance

Salford City Academy student Georgina Knight is today celebrating an outstanding set of GCSE results, achieving three Grade ‘A*'s and eleven Grade ‘A's.

The straight ‘A' student's exemplary performance is just one of the highlights from Salford City Academy's best ever GCSE results - 77% of students gained at least five A* to C grades.

Georgina has a passion for dance, in and out of school, and plans to follow this dream to London in the future.  But first she has the important task of studying for her A Levels!

Georgina said: "My family and school have always driven me to follow my passion as well as encouraging me to give myself a good foundation with A Levels."

Dance is a major part of Georgina's life through various dance groups and activities.

"Dancing is my whole life. I dance five days every week. It's quite tiring, but I'd be bored without it!" says Georgina.

Most recently Georgina travelled to New York to take part in the Broadway Experience, a programme set up to give students an opportunity to work with a range of experienced Broadway performers and coaches.

Through A Levels in Maths, Further Maths, Physics and PE Georgina hopes to give herself an alternative option to follow a career in teaching.

She said: "I would love to teach and I have used Dance to experience this by helping teach young children at Danceworks dance school in Eccles."
