A Sporting Chance for Dave Walton

Dave Walton is a student who has thrived at Salford City Academy and achieved far beyond his own expectations, accepting an offer from Myerscough College in Preston to study a Foundation Degree in Football Coaching. 

Dave says:

"I thought I'd just go straight into work after college but with the support from Salford City Academy I've found the route through to higher education easier than I thought."

Dave had the satisfaction of knowing his results prior to today with a Pass in his NVQ Level 3 Football Coaching course, while also completing the FA Level 2 Football Coaching qualification through his studies.

Dave says:

"I was relieved that I've not had to suffer nerves like my friends today. My course has been all about keeping on top of coursework and maintaining a really high standard throughout."

He adds:

"Salford City Academy has helped me become a coach with real ambitions for the future, all due to the fantastic support of tutors, teachers and the enrichment and work experience programmes.  I coached a girl's primary school football team and they won the Salford Schools Girls Cup recently - I felt like I'd personally had a hand in their success!"
