Art Department

Salford City Academy’s Art department prides itself on its range of traditional methods and new technology.  We enjoy the use of two art studios complete with a suite of Apple Mac computers and interactive white boards. 

The art department offers schemes of work that are thought provoking and inspiring for all children and all abilities.  A wide range of disciplines are available to all students including ceramics, printing, textiles, fine art, animation and other design projects. 

We enjoy taking advantage of our close proximity to some of the most exciting art galleries in the country and our pupils have the opportunity to visit and take part in workshops at galleries such as The Lowry, The Whitworth and The Corner House. 

The Art department is committed to involving our pupils with local arts and craftspeople.  We have artists in residence who work with pupils on a variety of themes and use a wide range of different disciplines.
