The Flying Theatre Company Perform 'Vive La France' - 19 September 2011
The Flying Theatre Company came into Salford City Academy to put on a performance in French for all of year 7 and 9 students, and the year 10 students that are doing GCSE French, which was lively and interactive with clearly spoken text. Music, comedy and circus skills enabled even those with a limited grasp of the language to enjoy and learn from the performance.
The students thoroughly enjoyed the show, with some of them getting up on the stage and taking part in singing and dancing and they even got a few teachers up to make fools of themselves during the show. The students had to listen carefully, to follow the story in French, but it was made easier with the scenery and props that they used during the performance. The show also included one of the performers riding a small unicycle and also a very big unicycle as well as juggling different objects at the same time.
There was lots of singing and dancing, not only from the performers, but from the students and the members of staff watching the show.
It was a show that was entertaining, interactive and most of all educational. A lot of the students said that it would help them with their French vocabulary in the future.
