Careers in Healthcare by Impact - 9th March 2011
On Wednesday 9th March 2011 the Impact Theatre Group were invited into the Academy to perform a short production on all the different careers available in the NHS. All our year 9 students were brought into the hall to watch this show and get them to think about their future and see if there are any jobs that interest them in this area of work.
The 3 performers did a very fast paced show, changing outfits, wigs and accents for each scene they acted out. The performance was made very funny and yet understandable for teenage pupils with characters that they knew, e.g. Keith Lemmon.
They made it clear that all careers in the NHS were available to men and women of any age, race or religion and that there are lots of different avenues for training in these specific areas of work.
The results from the evaluations were very good, showing that almost all the students enjoyed the performance and 95% of them said that they learned ‘what it is like to do a job’ and 94% of them said that one of the skills they achieved was ‘Business Awareness’.
