Year 8 Digi Music Workshop - 3rd February 2011

A group of 12 year 8 gifted and talented students took part in a Digi Music Workshop with Martin Daws  who is a professional freelance artist.

The pupils used specialist software to put together pieces of rap music, that they wrote and put together themselves.  They looked at different instruments, sounds and lyrics to incorporate into several pieces of music.

Pupils worked in groups to create 2 verses of lyrics for their rap.  This was recorded and mixed down by Martin and each student will be given a copy of their rap.

This workshop will help the students improve their literacy skills, imagination, confidence, self esteem, IT and communication skills.

The workshop went very well with all the pupils a little bit reluctant to take part at first, but keen and eager by the time it came to recording their pieces of music / raps.
