Transition Design Technology Project

As part of an ongoing transition programme at SCA, Clarendon Rd Primary School have joined Mrs Reeves & Mrs Hutton to engage in an exciting Design Technology Project. Groups of up to 15 pupils design and create their own tessellation jigsaw using MDF and building on a range of skills.

They began by designing their pattern using tessellation and building their frames. After choosing 2 contrasting colours they painted their frames and design. Finally, bringing their jigsaws to life, they carefully cut out the pieces using the Hegner Saw.

Towards the end of the session a few pupils took part in a competition to see who could complete the jigsaws in the fastest time, at the end of term, when all 3 groups have completed the projects, there will be a small prize for the fastest time.

Overall, this project has proved to be very successful, the pupils said they were very proud of what they had achieved and would love to do it again!
