6th Form Visit to Salford University - 19th January 2011
On the afternoon of 19th January 2011, 30 of our 6th form students went on a visit to Salford University to have a look at ‘student life’ whilst studying at University.
Across the afternoon the students were shown the student library, the Law Department and the IT department. The students were not shown inside these departments because students were working in them. However, they were shown into the gym which is available for students to use in their own time. They were taken across to the student accommodation blocks and shown one of the rooms that students ‘live’ in whilst at University. This is something they would have to apply for and pay rent on each week. They were also shown the common room and the student bar for them to use in their own leisure time.
In all, it was an interesting afternoon and gave the students the chance to think about planning for their future if they decide to go to Salford or any other Universities.
