Author Visit - Andrew Cope and Lara - 1st November 2010

Author Andrew Cope and Lara the Dog

Andrew Cope came into Salford City Academy on 1st November 2010 with his very obedient dog, Lara.

Andrew is the well known author of children's books; Spy Dogs and Spy Pups.  He was here to do a presentation and talk to all of year 7 about how he became an Author, what writing can do for you and how reading helps in everyday life.  The children were very enthusiastic throughout his presentation, hearing about his dog Lara, who lay, sprawled out on the floor throughout the whole thing.

It gave them a chance to link understanding and learning activities to job roles.Andrew asked the students questions about growing up and their life at school and in return gave them advice for the future.  He also explained how he became an Author at the late age of 32.

The students were very attentive to Andrew and asked some very good questions about their future, his life as an Author and about his dog, Lara.

Andrew gave out copies of his book to the students who asked the most interesting questions.
