Fire Safety Briefing by G.M. Fire Service

The Hair and Beauty department were very fortunate that Ian Robertson from Greater Manchester Fire Service agreed to come in and give a presentation to our Year 10 Hair and Beauty students about fire safety in the work place, the home and our everyday environment, also the situations we may find ourselves in. 

The presentation included video footage of the fire at Bradford Football Stadium and fire in the home, and also some personal accidents.

This had a very good impact on the students, having seen real life situations and photographs made it more real to them.

A piece of evidence to show this is the fact that one of the year 10 students came back a week later and said she had prevented a fellow student getting injured by a deoderant cannister as she had seen some footage of a young boy having his hand blown off by one of these cannister's in the presentation.
