BBC 21cc - 2 and 3rd Decembr 2009
December 2009
A group of 6 year 13 students from SCA 6th Form, attended a 2 day course at BBC 21cc.
On arrival they were introduced to Chris Leonard who teaches Creative Media at Salford University on a freelance basis.
Chris introduced the students to the camera’s/sound equipment and the effects of different lighting, then onto a theme, discussions about storylines for short films, and filming techniques.
They were then sent away to work on a story board, script and planning schedules. The group already knew their theme ‘BBC 21cc’, so they concentrated on everything else.
After lunch the group started putting their work together, using the camera’s, sound equipment and their innovative ideas.
During the afternoon they interviewed the BBC 21cc staff, filmed other students at work and themselves in action shots and still shots.
Day 2 started off with Chris Leonard talking the students through the technical procedure for downloading/cutting/pasting and editing the work they had completed the previous day.
They spent the rest of the day working on their films with the help and advice of the technical staff.
