Football Success for Year 8
On Thursday 10th November the Year 8 football team travelled to Newcastle Under Lyme to play Chesterton Community College in the last 32 of the English Schools Cup competition.
Salford City Academy dominated the game from the kick-off and continually put the Chesterton defence under pressure.
Anas Abdo quickly opened the scoring with a long range effort before Callum Williams added a second.
More pressure from the academy led to a further three goals in the first half to give the academy a 5-0 lead. It was a similar story in the second half, despite a number a substitutions, as Salford comfortably won the game 10-0!
Anas Abdo scored five goals, Rhys Griffin scored three and there was a goal-a-piece for Callum Williams, Jack Etchells and Bradley Coletrup.
It was a fantastic result. Scoring ten goals is always good but the most pleasing part was that we did not concede a goal. We're all looking forward to the draw for the next round where we could be facing a team from anywhere between Northumberland to Devon.
