Karate Kid II

Internal Filler

We have another outstanding karate kid in our midst.  Paul Molloy, Year 9, has only been a member of the Eccles Ken Yu Kai karate club for a couple of years but in that time he has enjoyed great success.

In the last year Paul has won five medals and a trophy from eight competitions, from local to national.

In Paul's last competition he won Silver in the Cadet Open Kumite at the Cho Jin Kai Karate Championships in Penrith, Cumbria.

Peter Molloy, Paul's dad, says: "I'm really proud of Paul. His last fight was his hardest one; the lad was really tall and in his face. But Paul got tunnel-vision and really went for it. He was extremely brave. He's learnt a lot through karate, it's a very disciplined sport."

Paul heard about the Eccles karate club from friend Saul Whittle, and trains there weekly.

"It's great to meet up with my friends and I really enjoy the competitions - I get a great adrenalin rush before them," says Paul.
