Pupils Perform Bugsy Malone

1920s New York came to life on stage at Salford City Academy when our pupils put on a rousing performance of gangster musical Bugsy Malone.

Salford City Academy students gave their all to the two performances of Bugsy Malone at the end of last term.  The Academy hall was filled with songs, dance, laughs and squirty cream!

The audience were treated to fantastic solo performances, dance routines, convincing New York accents and messy cream fights in the  production of the infamous children's film.

The show starred Katherine Bancroft, Katie-Jayne Leggott, Louis Edmonds, Bethany Downie, Amber Smith, Declan Robson, Byan Abu Dakka, Wednesday Shuttleton, Adam Pope, Samantha Lambie, Jade Heywood, Jack Roberts, Samantha Pearce, Samantha Davies and Grace Muzige.

The band featured Miss Landon, Mr Lee, Mrs Pechey, Keeton Hill and Josh Cartwright.

Many staff, students and family came along to support and enjoy the performance. Thanks to all those who gave up time to star in the show as well as all the helpers off-stage, it was a great success.

"The students were fantastic in their performance of Bugsy Malone; they really did themselves and the Academy proud," said Helen Pechey, Subject Leader Creative Arts.
