Care. Behaviour and Safety
We know that students perform best when they feel supported and encouraged to be the very best they can be. This means supporting students as they move through the Academy - particularly at key transition points, identifying and addressing any barriers to learning and, above all, giving every student an enjoyable learning experience that is personalised to their abilities and ambitions.
Our most important partnership is the one we have with parents. To this end, we maintain strong home-school links, and at all times, we liaise closely with parents and carers to maximise achievement for students.
"My child and I have a problem! What should I do?"
Year Leaders
We have a brilliant team of Year Leaders at Salford City Academy who can support your child so that they can learn happily and realise their potential.
Year 7: Rose Daniels
Year 8: Graham Healey
Year 9: Jenney Mannion
Year 10: Danielle Sanderson
Year 11: Carol Mahon - Care, Behaviour & Safety Strategy Leader
Personal Mentors
Salford City Academy has 40 Personal Mentors, eight in each Year Group. Personal Mentors are led by Year Leaders as crucial points of contact should your child require extra support with any issue. Our Personal Mentors are renowned for the caring relationships that they build with Mentees.
Academy Planner
The Academy Planner is the major tool for communication between home and SCA. That is why we insist that it is brought in every day and why it is checked weekly by Mentors. Please monitor the progress and homework of your son/ daughter by reviewing and signing the planner at least weekly.
You must contact us before the problem interferes with progress in learning. Please contact your Year Leader or Personal Mentor by telephone, e-mail or Academy planner.
Review and Target Setting Days
Salford City Academy holds three Review and Target Setting Days throughout the academic year for parents/carers to meet Personal Mentors. The meetings enable a review of holistic progress and to set student targets for the year.
